Is there anything about Kauai, Hawaii that I need to be warned about? I am planning on taking a trip to Kauai, Hawaii, and I was wondering if there was anything that I need to be warned about. Like any big things, poisionous things, ect. Thank you in advance. Also, any suggestions about Kauai itself or, any hotel recommendations would be awesome!! Thank you in advance!!
Reasonably priced Kauai hotel with a great pool? My husband and I are taking an anniversary trip to Kauai. We can't decide which hotel to choose. We'd prefer something romantic with as few screaming kids as possible! A hotel on the beach, although we don't need beach front rooms. We don't want the most expensive, nor do we want the cheapest. An in room fridge and microwave are essential, and a kitchenette or condo even better. Here's the deciding factor- we want a great pool. Not the typical rectangle concrete pool. It is essential that the pool have waterfalls and a relatively natural feel with rocks, good landscaping etc. Waterslides and a winding river would be great. The best pools appear to be the Grand Hyatt (out of our price range) and the Outrigger Waipouli but some hotels don't have good photos to compare with. The Outrigger is in our range, but I've read that the hotel location and some rooms' views are crappy. Can anyone with first hand experience recommend a really cool pool hotel with a moderate price? Just to clarify, we are looking in the $250-$300 a night range. The Outrigger Waipouli sounds great and is almost ideal for us. We love the look of the rooms and pool, but I've read that it is in a noisy, crowded area. We'd just like to find something comparable with a similarly creative pool and three stars that is in a less busy location. We don't need a private pool, we'd just prefer a couples oriented/ romantic hotel over a kid friendly one.
Any hotels in Hawaii let you use their pools/facilities for the day? The family is going on a cruise to a few Hawaiian islands (Maui, Hawaii, Kauai) and we will be in a different port every day. For days where we don't want to go on a sight seeing tour, are there any hotels that will let you hang out at their facilities -pools, beach-- for the day? What would the fees be? How do you schedule something like that? Thanks for any help you can provide.
kauai hotel for family? I am thinking of taking my family (4 kids) to Kauai April 2008. Where is a good and reasonable place to stay for a week? I don't have thousands to spend on a room, would rather spend on things to do (ideas wanted here too!) A pool is a must, and close to beach but does not have to be on a beach. Also, do I need to rent a car the entire time?
Inexpensive places for wedding guests to stay in Kauai? Hi all, I'm getting married next year in Kauai, and I want to provide my guests with some options. The wedding is at the Grand Hyatt at Poipu. I'd like to find some hotels or condos near there, that can be an alternative to staying at the Hyatt ($$$$!) Has anyone stayed in a condo near Poipu that was reasonably priced and reasonably nice? (Or B&B, or hotel, or motel?) Mahalo in advance!
Where are the best places to stay on Kauai? We are traveling there for 4 days in November. We are really looking for the best value...a realtively low price but a nice place too. Open to hotels, condos, etc. We would love to be next to the water or a place that is scenic or has a great view! Thanks!
Kauai or Maui?? Which is better for a honeymoon? I'm getting married next August, and we have decided to go to Hawaii on our honeymoon. We were planning on Maui, since I've already been to the Big Island and I live on Oahu. So we wanted to go somewhere different, not to overly populated. We thought Hawaii would be good, but my stepdad who lived in Hawaii for over 13 years is telling us he thinks that Kauai is the most beautiful and there won't be as many people there. I really don't have a prefernce, I just want it to be very romantic and very special and not Oahu, or the big island. What do you think and reccomend. Also any hotels/resorts, or activities you think we should do, we'd love to hear it! Thanks so much!!
Hotel or Condos Kauai? I'm planning a trip to Kauai in April with my 2 daughters and my 2 year old grandaughter. Would like to get lodging at the low end. Any suggestions? What side of the island is the least expensive for that time of year? Doesn't need to be an ocean view. Or near the beach. Nothing too secluded.
Please recommend a hotel in Kauai, Hawaii? We're looking for a classy place with good service, breakfast and/or kitchen options, and friendly staff that could help us plan some activities once we get bored of the beach. Thanks a lot!
We want a honeymoon in Kauai without too many kids around.? My fiancee and I will be getting married in August, and we want to go to Kauai for our honeymoon. Although we both love kids, we want to have a quiet, romantic honeymoon without too many ankle-biters around. We're looking for something a little less "huge resort" and something a little more "boutique hotel". Also, we're both surfers, so it would need to be somewhere near Poipu. Any suggestions?
where can i get package hotel deal for hawaii island hopping? is i stay at the same company hotel on oahu, maui. kauai, and kona, will i save more money? thenk they offer some kind of package for a two week stay? can anyone recommend and hotel roughly around 200 a night? for that price must be at least 3 star if not more. also looking for booking travel tours around the islands, and opinions? how to use for the cheapest? stay away from...? thanks for all the help in advance!
where to stay on Kauai? Im looking for the cheapest hotel/place to stay on Kauai but one that is clean and in a safe area?
Kauai: Suggestions for a secluded/hideaway gem for honeymooners? We are planning on spending a week there this spring and do not wish to be around alot of people (ie, resort, hotel). Can anyone recommend a B&B or smaller hotel? We'd like to be w/in walking distance from a secluded beach. We are interested in hiking, seeing falls, snorkeling, etc. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Waikki, Maui, Kauai Questions? For my Honeymoon.? I'm going to Waikki, Maui, Kauai for 3, 4 and 4 nights respectably in late April, any tips of what to expect? Staying at the Sheraton Princess (W), Sheraton (M) and Sheraton Kauai (K). Any thoughts on those? What are the best ways to get from the airports to the hotels, are cabs easy to get round there? Or are there better options. Hotel rooms are all room only, so how much money am I going to need for my 11 nights there for food and drink and entertainment. I'd appreciate answers from anyone who has been there recently or lives out there. Thanks, Wow lots of good answers there it might take me a while to decide on the best answer! I'm not sure what activities we'll be doing, because at the moment the the wife to be doesn't know where we are going, it's a surprise. So we'll decide what to do when we get there. I hadn't thought much about getting a car to hire, so maybe I should look into that. Maybe I'll just hire one when I get out there for a day or two. Thanks everyone so far.
travelling to Kauai? My husband and I are planning a trip to Kauai in February. I did not think accomodations would be so expensive. Does anyone know of any condo's, or hotels that are nice, but are on the lower end of price?
Where to stay in Kauai? South Shore or Coconut Shore? Hi, I am leaving for Kauai on the 1st, so far I have ariline tickets, and no hotel. There are a lot of choices, and it got a bit confusing. I am torn between South shore and coconut shore. Also I am travelling alone, so I am looking for a decent hotel or resourt, which wouldn't be overly expensive. Ideally it would be something safe, with some things to do at the resort/hotel territory, so you can spend time there and maybe find some company - I am not looking for nightclubs or any of that type of nightlife. I love swimming and outdoors. what are the hotels that have swimmable beaches with not too much of tides/waves? I will appreciate any comments/suggestions. Thanks in advance.
Kauai Hawaii questions? Going to Kauai in a week :) I have been looking for interesting things to do, Any IDEAS? Help with a few questions please? Where exactly is the glass beach? Is there an offical name for the beach? I did not think Kauai had dark/black sand, but my info from the hotel mentions it in passing. Was it a mistake? Is there any way besides plane to travel between Islands? Thanks:)
Kauai - where is best? Now that I have been given some great advice about Hawaii and have decided on Kauai where on the island is the nicest to be based? Somebody mentioned Poipu....is that lovely? What I'm looking for is just somewhere where there is a nice beach to lie on and snorkel from and then exploring can be done in a jeep or something. Also, is it a lot cheaper to rent a condo through VRBO than go the hotel route?
Kauai vacation? Were going to Kauai for vacation on Monday and I were staying at the aloha beach resort. I was wondering if anyone has stayed that this hotel before, and how is the island. What all did you do?
where can i get the cheapest flights to hawaii? I am hoping to go to maui or kauai within the next month but I am on a tight budget. I would be leaving from phoenix or southern california. Any ideas on how and where to get a really cheap flight (and hotel)
Questions about visiting Kauai Hawaii? I'm vacationing in Kauai the first week in June. Where is a nice hotel to stay at that has the best beach to swim and snorkel at? Also, be in a good location for walking or busing to a local town for restaurants and visiting shops? I would like to not have to rent a car if I don't need to. Also, there are two adventures I would like to do while visiting the island. One is to take a catamaran day trip that includes stops for snorkeling. The second is a day trip to hike, zip line, and kayak. Any suggestions for tour guides would be greatly appreciated.
maui or kauai? which would you recommend for a young couple to stay? I have lived in Hawaii on Oahu and have been to Maui and the Big Island, my boyfriend has never been to Hawaii. So I was thinking of staying on either Maui or Kauai but which one? We will be spending the last 3 days of our trip on Oahu, so I would like to stay somewhere that isn't very packed with tourists. We want great beautiful sunny weather, nice waterfalls and nice natural places to see. Maybe even do a tour. As far as hotel goes, we want a cheap place to stay! we are just sleeping so no need for luxury. So which island would be best and which would be the nicest, safest, town to stay in with the cheapest hotel?
Im going to Kauai? Does anyone have any hotel suggestions or places i should go? I was thinking of staying at Castle Kiahuana Plantation..any1 been there?
