Kauai Fun Vacations

Kauai Condos Knowledge Base

Hotel or Condos Kauai? I'm planning a trip to Kauai in April with my 2 daughters and my 2 year old grandaughter. Would like to get lodging at the low end. Any suggestions? What side of the island is the least expensive for that time of year? Doesn't need to be an ocean view. Or near the beach. Nothing too secluded.
Has anyone ever stayed at Alii Kai I or the Sealodge condos on the Island of Kauai? If so, did you like it? I've been doing quite a bit of research and have the dilemna of where to stay. Thanks.
What is the average rent in Hawaii, Kauai, for average 2 bedroom condo or house? The city of Lihue and the surounding area would be best.
Is it cheaper to buy vacation packages to Kauai or book things separately? If you recommend vacation packages, any tips on sources for great deals you've gotten in the past for Kauai? If you recommend booking things separately for Kauai, any tips on that? Gotten great deals on condos and/or car rentals? Also any bad experiences with condos and car rentals that i should avoid? What about booking travel agents?
Inexpensive places for wedding guests to stay in Kauai? Hi all, I'm getting married next year in Kauai, and I want to provide my guests with some options. The wedding is at the Grand Hyatt at Poipu. I'd like to find some hotels or condos near there, that can be an alternative to staying at the Hyatt ($$$$!) Has anyone stayed in a condo near Poipu that was reasonably priced and reasonably nice? (Or B&B, or hotel, or motel?) Mahalo in advance!
Where are the best places to stay on Kauai? We are traveling there for 4 days in November. We are really looking for the best value...a realtively low price but a nice place too. Open to hotels, condos, etc. We would love to be next to the water or a place that is scenic or has a great view! Thanks!
Looking to book a honeymoon in Kauai. Want to find a cottage/condo (personal places) for a good price- help? Ideally, we don't want to spend more than $2000 for ten days. I don't mind where on the island it is (anywhere near a good beach!) - I just want it to be more personal than staying in a hotel, at an affordable price, very beautiful, and with a good reputation.
Could you help me find a house or cottage on Kauai for rent this summer near the beach? I've searched and searched and SEARCHED online with not much luck, but I'm sure there's one out there that's perfect for our honeymoon :) on July 8-15 or possibly July 8-22 if we find one that's cheap enough. We're looking for a cottage or house (NO CONDOS OR RESORTS WHERE THERE'S A TON OF PEOPLE AROUND) that is on the beach or very near the beach (no more than a 10 minute walk from the house). If it is not on the beach, we would like to at least have an ocean view. A 1 bedroom, 1 bath would be fine since it will only be the 2 of us. Not a shack, but not super fancy either. ***Beachfront or ocean view. We would like to keep it under $1,500 a week (or $215 a night). Less than that would be better, but we know beachfront homes aren't cheap! Know of anything in particular or know who I could contact? We have already checked VRBO, searched web for "Kauai beachfront rental", "house for rent on Kauai" and tons of other variations of those words. Any other suggestions? :)
Good Condo on Kauai? We are thinking we would like to rent a condo instead of stay at a big hotel resort. Any recomendations on either condos or reputable websites that havfe manyh for rent?
Where to stay and what to do in Kauai??? My husband and I are travelling to Kauai with our 4 year old daughter and another couple who also has 2 kids (ages 3 and 1). We made reservations at the Sheraton, however, we're also looking at condos/cottages to rent since we're with kids. Can anyone recommend any? Also, I want to know what activities and restaurants people recomment. Water sports are out of the question with 3 kids but what else that won't break our budget??

Maui or Kauai... preferences and or recomendations? Aloha! We are planning a honeymoon in Sept '08 in Hawaii. We have narrowed or choices to either Maui or Kauai. We are looking to spend about $150 a night, or less. We want to be right on the beach, in a condo or villa, with a pool. Does anyone have any recomendations?
travelling to Kauai? My husband and I are planning a trip to Kauai in February. I did not think accomodations would be so expensive. Does anyone know of any condo's, or hotels that are nice, but are on the lower end of price?
Kauai - where is best? Now that I have been given some great advice about Hawaii and have decided on Kauai where on the island is the nicest to be based? Somebody mentioned Poipu....is that lovely? What I'm looking for is just somewhere where there is a nice beach to lie on and snorkel from and then exploring can be done in a jeep or something. Also, is it a lot cheaper to rent a condo through VRBO than go the hotel route?
Reasonably priced Kauai hotel with a great pool? My husband and I are taking an anniversary trip to Kauai. We can't decide which hotel to choose. We'd prefer something romantic with as few screaming kids as possible! A hotel on the beach, although we don't need beach front rooms. We don't want the most expensive, nor do we want the cheapest. An in room fridge and microwave are essential, and a kitchenette or condo even better. Here's the deciding factor- we want a great pool. Not the typical rectangle concrete pool. It is essential that the pool have waterfalls and a relatively natural feel with rocks, good landscaping etc. Waterslides and a winding river would be great. The best pools appear to be the Grand Hyatt (out of our price range) and the Outrigger Waipouli but some hotels don't have good photos to compare with. The Outrigger is in our range, but I've read that the hotel location and some rooms' views are crappy. Can anyone with first hand experience recommend a really cool pool hotel with a moderate price? Just to clarify, we are looking in the $250-$300 a night range. The Outrigger Waipouli sounds great and is almost ideal for us. We love the look of the rooms and pool, but I've read that it is in a noisy, crowded area. We'd just like to find something comparable with a similarly creative pool and three stars that is in a less busy location. We don't need a private pool, we'd just prefer a couples oriented/ romantic hotel over a kid friendly one.
Are there any Condotels in Kauai? Looking for condo hotels in HI other than waikiki....

I plan on going eiather to Aruba or Kauai, have not decided. I hear that the east side of Aruba is more relaxing, where as the west side of the island is more metropolitan. Any thoughts? advice?

We are visting Oahu in Sept., Any recommendations on a hotel, house, condo to stay at for 3 days? We are going to Oahu after Kauai (7days), where we havea beach house, any recommendations on a good place to stay in Oahu?
Hawaii???? Im thinking of going to Hawaii for a while. Seven people including me. I was thinking of going to Hawaii (big island) for a couple of days and then spending a week or so at Kauai. Sound good? Any ideas? Also i need to find a nice hotel or condo something cheap on the big island. Help!
What would be the best city to rent house/condo in Oahu? We are looking into a trip in late March, early April, and would like to keep away from population centers as much as possible. I've only been to Maui and Kauai, so I'm sure Oahu will seem crowded. I'd like to stay near coast, since most of our time is spent snorkeling, swimming, and golfing. As a reference, we usually stay in Kihei when in Maui, but spend most of our time in Wailea and Makena. Thanks!
