Kauai Fun Vacations

Summer in Hawaai, where to stay in Maui and Kauai?

Hi, do you know what are the best place to stay in Maui and Kauai? North, West, South, East side.... and which kind of accomodation (not hotels) do you suggest me (studios, homes....)

  1. On the west side of Maui from the south at Kihei to the north at Kapalua with Kaanapali probably being the best all around area. Check out Vacation Rentals By Owners for the best deals on condos or homes.
  2. Aloha, and I live here in Maui, and I prefer the west side. The beaches here are excellent, and it is safe to swim. Check out Resort Quest.com, and they will list some condo's, in either the Kaanapalli Resort area, or Honokowai, which is just a mile, up the road. These resorts are all ocean front, and you can request a studio, no problem. I like either Papakea Resort, or Paki Maui, and they are both close to each other and they are on the ocean.Kauai, well, I like the north shore, and Hana lei Bay area, but next time I go there I will check out the south shore, as south shore has some great beaches. Also, there is golfing everywhere, and just about anything you want to do. Aloha, ....
  3. The only hotel I've stayed at on Maui is the Maui Beach Hotel in Kihei. It was pretty nice (2001) and right across the street from a great beach. Sorry, not too familiar with Maui. I live on Kauai and if I could stay anywhere on the island I wanted, I would stay at the Grand Hyatt in Poipu. The property is beautiful and the pools are amazing! The Sheraton in Poipu is also nice but not as elaborate as the Hyatt. On the east side there is the Marriott and the Hilton (which used to be the Radisson). On the north shore you don't have much choice unless you choose a condo. The Princeville Hotel is pretty much it, but I've heard wonderful things about it.
  4. Kauai the best place to stay is the north shore......it is so beautiful and exotic you will love it. I stayed in some condos called the Sealodge. It has a private beach, great views, and is not expensive. Look up its website, and have fun in Hawaii!
