What part of Kauai should we stay at? Thank you (If you have a particular hotel that you could recommend, that
would be great).

- It depends on what you are planning. If it is a honeymoon and you want privacy, then I would recommend the north shore area, where there is less development, more secluded beaches, etc. within a shorter distance. If you want to be closer to more activities, shops, etc., then I would recommend the Lihue/Kapaa area (east shore). just google kauai hotels for info on many places to stay, from cheap to first class.
- I agree with Steve, but I would also suggest that you try to find a condo or timeshare as they can be cheaper and more relaxed places - try redweek.com You might also look around Poipu on the South Shore (Koloa). Make sure you go on a Blue Dolphin tour if you get a chance (located in Poipu area). We have had our best whale watching experiences with them. The Sheraton in the Poipu beach area is fairly nice. We have a timeshare in Princeville and get to Kauai a couple times a year.
- Man. I've been to Kauai like twice, but I can't recall where we stayed at. But this is my one advice.. DO YOUR RESEARCH ON HOTELS. Thoroughly. I went with my band class to Kauai and the hotel we stayed at was completely horrible. And on some sites it's rated FOUR stars too. Just make sure you don't end up with a terrible hotel. Good luck!
- We spent our honeymoon at the Hyatt regency---it was gorgoeus and on the side of the island where it only rains like 10 days out of the year---the other side of the island it rains like 300 days a year, so be careful. Have fun!
- penguin gal is saying she stayed in the south, "sunny poipu" as oposed to the north-hanallei/princeville area. i think the north has more hotels and things to do, although personally i prefered poipu but it is sleepy. be sure and go on a boat tour of the napali coast, its beautiful
- Hyatt regency in Poipu is nice, high end hotel, Poipu Kai is nice also. There are lots of Vacation rentals you might want to look into on the Poipu side. Kapaa, or Princeville is nice to lots of places to stay, depends on what price range you looking at.
